More on City Council's Meeting on the air pollution crisis

CLEAN is supportive of Houston City Council's efforts to get the State to move promptly to reduce air pollution in the Houston area. The Special Meeting on Air Pollution held Feb. 7 was a step in the right direction. The discussion at the meeting raised more questions. Following are some of the questions CLEAN wants the City Council and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to answer. We encourage you to follow-up with the City Council regularly and ask these questions or others you may have. We need to keep this issue in front of government representatives until Houston area air is safe to breathe.

  • Where did TCEQ monitors find high concentrations of pollution?
  • What type of monitor or measurement does TCEQ use?
  • What does TCEQ consider to be “high concentrations of pollution?”
  • What levels of which toxins does TCEQ consider safe?

Contact TCEQ:

Contact Houston City Council:
